| Tips: To increase your vertical jump there are some very great excercises that you can do. 1. The first exercise that is very important is calf raises, this is where you place the toe end of your foot on a cinder block or anthing else that you can find to place it on that is sturdy and you lift yourself up only using your calf muscles. Strong calves help you do quick, on the spot jumping. 2. The second exercise, and most important exercise, is quadracep leap ups which you can use or not use a jump rope with. What you do is squat down about half way down and jump as high as you can while looking straight ahead. As you do this you feel the burning in your quadraceps which means that it is working. 3. The third exercise is one legged leap ups. In this exercise you will need a sturdy chair to use. Place one leg up on the chair and the other on the ground. Then, you leap up using only the elavated leg, and while you are in the air switch legs so that when you come down the other leg will be elevated then jump only using that leg. 4. The final exercise is jump ups. This is where you jump as high as you can and the second you hit the ground you jump again. While doing all this you have to try to not bend your legs. You can use your arms to thrust yourself back in to the air, but DO NOT BEND YOUR KNEES. Before and after all these exercises you must stretch. You do not want to get injured while doing these exercises and not be able to play!
